Commissioned for the now-defunct Butchershop Gallery in Vancouver as a part of a groupshow investigating and celebrating alternative artspaces in Vancouver, this piece was a three dimensional sketch of a possible model for a microcinema - built from an open-topped carboard apple box, and cardboard theatre seats, projectors, counters, tables and chairs, the screen is rear-projected upon with a loop of 16mm film (or video) from outside the box. The use of an actual carboard apple box is a reference to the film industry's most basic tool, used by the grip department.
